As we conclude our time as the office bearers, Kaisthanasamithi and the Publishing Board of the Parish Herald of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church, Kalyan, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to each of you for your trust, support, and encouragement during our service. It has been our honor to work together with such a dedicated and loving community. We are grateful for the countless moments of joy, fellowship, and growth we have experienced alongside you. Your commitment to our church and its mission has inspired us every step of the way.

HARVEST FESTIVAL

The Parish celebrated the Harvest Festival with great enthusiasm and heartfelt thanksgiving to the Lord Almighty for His countless blessings and a year of abundant fruits. Sunday, 4th January 2026, was set apart as a special day for offering the harvest at the House of the Lord. A dedication prayer was also conducted for the families, symbolizing their complete submission to the God of all providence. Annual sale and auction were organized, reminiscent of the traditional Harvest Festivals of earlier times. We express our sincere gratitude to all families for their generous participation and for upholding this cherished tradition instituted by our forefathers.

OUTSIDE KERALA MISSION SUNDAY

On Sunday, January 4th, we observed Outside Kerala Mission Sunday to remember and pray for the missional activities of MTEA across India. The offertory was designated for this purpose.

MAR THOMA VIDYAPEETH, GOVELI ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION

AMCHI MUMBAI (Where Culture Comes Together) Annual Day celebration of Mar Thoma Vidyapeeth was a vibrant and memorable event held on Saturday, 17th January 2026, at our school campus. The chief guest for the occasion was Shri. D. Sivanandhan IPS, Former DGP, Maharashtra. The extravagant event was well-organized, featuring heart-throbbing performances by the students. A felicitation ceremony was also held to honour both curricular and extra-curricular achievers.

DIOCESAN CONVENTION

The 19th Diocesan Convention of the Mumbai Diocese of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church was held from January 22nd to January 25th, 2026, at various venues. The closing session of the convention, along with a combined Worship Service and Holy Communion Service, took place at the CIDCO Exhibition Centre in Vashi, where our members participated with great enthusiasm.

MEDICAL MISSION SUNDAY

On Sunday, February 1, 2026, Medical Mission Sunday was observed to remember and pray for the projects and activities in the healthcare sector of Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church. The offertory for the day was dedicated to these initiatives. Members associated with the healthcare sector, both past and present, among our parishioners were greeted and honoured with flowers.

GENERAL BODY MEETING

The General Body meeting of the parish was held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, followed by the Holy Communion Service. During this meeting, the budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 was proposed and approved. Elections for the Office Bearers and Internal Auditors for the same period were conducted, and the Kaisthanasamithi for the year 2026-27 was constituted. Additionally, other relevant matters were discussed, and decisions were made.

MAR THOMA SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN IN NEED OF SPECIAL CARE

The 34th Annual Day Celebration of Mar Thoma School for Children in Need of Special Care was held on Saturday, 27th February, at Mar Thoma Nagar, Goveli, Titwala. The Chief Guest for the event was Shri. Avadhut V. Shetye, MD (ACU) Acupuncture & Pressure treatment. The celebration was vibrant, showcasing the remarkable talents of our children, who performed with great enthusiasm despite their challenges.

GREAT LENTEN SEASON 2026: WORSHIP SERVICES

The Evening Worship services (സന്ധ്യാനമസ്ക്കാരം) during the Lenten Season commenced on February 15, 2026, and are being held at our church. These services are scheduled daily at 7.30pm. The Sevika Sanghom Choir has been leading us through the liturgical chants, creating a spiritually enriching atmosphere for worship. The participation of the faith community has been truly remarkable, reflecting a strong spirit of reverence and devotion among attendees.

PARISH CHOIR

Two choir members participated in the Convention Choir for the Mumbai Diocese Annual Convention 2026 (22–25 January). The choir also took part in Aathmeeya Sangeetha Sandhya, a musical night hosted by St. Paul’s Mar Thoma Church Choir, Vashi, on 15th March 2026. A meeting was held on 21st February 2026 to elect office bearers for the financial year 2026–27 and to discuss upcoming choir initiatives.
